We look forward to hearing from you. What I discovered is that at around 27 or so feet the default length of most all the 'stubs' are too long. I ended up chopping off the ones for 80 and 40 and 80 was still resonant around 3.

Was already resonant on 15 80 meters has about 50 kc of spread which isn't bad as this antenna is quite short.

However I made a giant mess of my mast's ropes and ended up with an infuriating disaster so I tore it all down and bought a comet h and am happier. I bought the Diamond W as my first HF antenna, intending to mount it in my attic. I used it for about 6 months sporadicaly with a tuner.

The top 15m, 40m and 80m wire is mounted along the ridgeline of my attic, and i had to bend the ends of the 80m wire 90 degrees to fit. All bands tuned well except 80m, where I have a khz section to use. As I said, it is in my one-story attic, so it isn't a DX hunter, but I'm on the air. Test equipment used an Antenna Analyzer. Setup the Diamond W when I first assembled it and hung it up 4.

When I started 3. Final result SWR 3. This just fits my backyard which is Gave this antenna a 5 because it works very well for me at a low height of 15 feet I have changed it slightly by separating it into two dipoles by adding another balun and coax feed as I found 10m to be a little deaf but by liberating the 10m and 20m dipole away from the other its way better anyone who has one should try this it makes a big difference and is simple to tune this way all stations I work are surprised by its performance especially on 80m as its so short its crazy!!!

This is an update to my earlier review, in wich I described the dissatisfaction with the Diamond WD After all it appeared that the balun supplied with the antenna, was defect. So far, things are looking good but a faulty balun out of the box should nevertheless not happen imho. The vendor replaced it with a new one in a jiffy, so good service. Hope to score some DX with this antenna! More than 12 Months. There is a delay before newly submitted reviews are Approved and posted in eHam's reviews.

The SWR at 40 m is below at band ends and 1. On 80 m the SWR is at tuned frequency, 1. Its performance is really great. Better than I expected and by far better than my old mono band inverted Vs. Very good quality materials and easy to install and adjust.

Works Great! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months. High quality materials. Easy assembly. Works exactly as described in the manual including the specified bandwidth. Even the packaging was first class! Mine came with an English version of the manual. You can't call it "poor" when it operates exactly as described. If you fail to do the proper research on a product before buying, it's your own fault, not the manufacturer's.

Small bandwidth does not equal low efficiency. If you think it does, you better go study up on antenna theory! In fact, it's exactly the opposite! A low SWR over the whole 80 meter band would indicate very high losses in a design like this.

Absolutly the worst performing antenna I have ev er used. Bandwidth so norrow on 75 meters that you must have an antenna tuner to use. Since that is the case you can imagine how effecient it is. Don't waste your money on this thing. Just about any antenna you build will out perform this slug. Performance is Good. I have been looking to get one of these for a very long time to minimize the number of dipoles hanging from my tower.

W is no exception. The quality of build of the trap coils are unprecedented. They're definitely sealed from the weather. I applied liquid tape on my connections.

Pretty wide bandwidth. It never went higher than The 80 mtrs is a different story! It was out of wack right off the get-go.
